You will serve as a Supervisory Production Controller for NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.

Responsibilities
  • You will supervise a workforce including Production Controllers, Ship Alternation Manager, Equipment Specialist, and support staff and coordinate efforts of engineering and planning personnel, schedulers, and Production Quality Control personnel.
  • You will coordinate, manage, and control the activity?s planning effort for incremental maintenance and modernization of the Forward Deploy Naval Forces (FDNF) aircraft carrier.
  • You will develop, implement, and execute a unique plan to incrementally inspect and repair or overhaul all shipboard equipment, systems, and structures.
  • You will work in the planning organization during the preplanning phase and will support the Production Department during execution.
  • You will exercise broad responsibility for advance planning including reviewing work requests for performance of work, preparing estimates, issuing job orders, and ordering material.
  • You will create and maintain timely, accurate, and achievable schedule which support project execution at the level of detail necessary for effective project management.
  • You will translate the project execution strategy into effective work operations and promote efficient and economical work accomplishment under the deneral direction of the Planning Officer.
  • You will promote and administer management programs such as safety, cost reduction, productivity improvement, energy conservation, incentive awards, and employee performance appraisals.
  • You will authorize the preparation of plans, design data, and material specifications, and confer with Design personnel concerning the scope of work and capacity to support production schedules.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: creating, planning, and authorizing production schedules for ship repair, overhaul, and conversion work. .
