The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 600 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

Enterprise Messaging and Mobility within House Information Resources supports the operation of network load balancers. These load balancers are F5 network components. They support connectivity between Exchange servers, Airwatch servers and end users. These components support Tier one services and require specialized skills for deployment, upgrades and ongoing maintenance.


Assist with the maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of the F5 load balancers including BIGIP, BIGIQ, and GTM GSLB solutions.

Assist with the maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of the Airwatch MDM and vIDM identity management solutions.

Assist with, or lead, special projects in support of defining and designing system architectures for new or existing systems.

Create Standard Operating Procedures, Change Control documentation and after action reports.

Be instrumental in using current technology to create monitoring and alerting for integrated operation center.

Cooperate with client’s Networking and Security teams, developer groups and software and hardware vendors to provide optimum system performance, security and availability.

Provide knowledge transfer to designated client contacts.

Must participate in the development of BCDR, NIST Risk management Framework documentation.

Provide on call support and operations support after hours as required.

The ideal candidate must have:

Thorough understanding of networking (including routing, masking, tagging, etc).

Thorough understanding of load-balancing and traffic management concepts, both local and global.

Thorough understanding of F5-specific topologies and interactions.

Thorough knowledge of F5 implementations including interfaces, high-availability, monitors, load-balancing algorithms, failover mechanisms, device management, upgrade and downgrade processes.

Understanding of newer F5 products and modules for user authentication, remote access, and security enforcement (app firewall, data center firewall, network firewall the F5 way) and their integration with LTM/GTM.

Thorough understanding of F5 hardware platforms including virtualization segregation and distribution at the hardware, software, and partition level.


A Bachelor's degree in an IT related field and 18 years of relevant experience.
