Database Administrator


In this role the Database Administrator is responsible for applying SQL Server patches, supporting database backups and restores, working on any performance tuning requirements, and live monitoring of databases. You will work closely with Development teams to refine their SQL scripts, assist in application release deployments and support any database break-fix type requests. On a day to day basis, the DBA will be on point to run database health checks and troubleshoot / remediate any findings.


  • Installation, configuration and administration of Microsoft SQL Server (various versions)

  • Monitor/ Remediate alerts and provide Operational support for SQL databases

  • Maintain all functions of database systems, including access, device allocations, validation checks, security, documentation and statistical methodology.

  • Design and architect various high availability and disaster recovery solution as well long term archival process.

  • Experience on different type of database backup, replication, recovery, restoration, solutions.

  • Knowledge on Azure or cloud based solutions on SQL platform a plus

  • Experience with automation and PowerShell scripting to build infrastructure for automation.

  • Support problem resolution; consult and advise in application design and tunings for SQL Server and SQLs.

  • Participation in product evaluations, design review session, data requirement meetings and consulting with application development products

  • Review technical documentation to verify compliance with client requirements and established architectural standards and guidelines

  • Perform DB patching, investigate and remediate vulnerabilities.

  • Participate in on-call rotations.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 3 years of Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience

  • Working knowledge or previous administration of SQL 2008R2- SQL 2016 and Windows Server 2012/2016.

  • Experience with ETL, DTS, T-SQL, SQL Server, and SSRS, SSIS.

  • Performance tuning for SQL server, queries, stored procedures, views, etc.

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Power shell experience

Work Conditions

  • Extra hours may be required in meeting project deadlines.

  • Some occasional travel maybe required for the purpose of meeting with stakeholders or off-site personnel/management.
