Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, we seek an experienced RN Admissions Clinician with a behavioral health background who is committed to providing excellence and who has a professional passion to complement our current team. This is a pivotal position responsible for responding with appropriate guidance to those in crisis and seeking support with a mental health concern. The RN Admissions Specialist will service Montevista Hospital located in the beautiful Las Vegas Valley. This position promotes and contributes to our mission, vision, and beliefs by:

  • Employing a knowledge of mental health disorders through telephone and in-person assessment presenting viable treatment options;

  • Interpreting acuity indicators and referring patients to appropriate level of care;

  • Presenting an accurate clinical summary to payers for preauthorization, the admitting psychiatrist, external referral sources and service teams;

  • Obtaining agreement and written authorization from the patient or legal guardian;

  • Ensuring measures of comfort and safety during the admission process;

  • Computer literate;

  • Follow up with referring professionals in support of continuity of care.


  • RN with behavioral health field experience.

  • Prior experience performance clinical assessments, obtaining authorization for treatment, crisis management and facilitating hospital admissions are all considered complimentary to the position's success.
