EMA Recreation and Engagement Assistant in United States

The Recreation and Engagement Assistant (RGA) serves as a vital link in assuring that each resident is engaged throughout the day in a manner that is meaningful to them . At the direction of recreation and engagement management staff, the RGA may physically set up group activity programs, transport residents to these programs, conduct or assist with conducting these programs and finally evaluate each resident's engagement and/or participation in these programs. The RGA may also work in engaging residents on an individual basis though one on one or small group interactions and assistance.

Essential Functions:

Plans and implements recreation programs that meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each Resident.

Must be physically able to assist Residents to and from recreation programs and outings.

Maintains effective rapport with each resident and their family members and/or responsible parties

Adhere to dietary guidelines during food service programs.

Provides input to the assessment and evaluation of Resident's participation when requested.

Communicates Resident's concerns and responses to their immediate supervisor.

Supports Resident's individual needs and preferences, customary routines, concerns and choices.

Assists the interdisciplinary team in the implementation of resident plan of care.

Utilizes the It's Never 2 Late computers in programing to enhance engagement.

Knowledgeable and able to update Touchtown digital signs as needed.

*Education: *High School Graduate or Equivalent

*Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: *None Required

*Experience: *One year related hands on experience with a senior population or other related experience with seniors preferred.

*Knowledge: *Recognized the importance of age appropriate, life fulling, and quality recreation programs.

*Skills: *Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, and use of the Internet.

*Other: *Ability to lift 35 lbs.
