Exp’s**Brampton (Clark) office is currently seeking a Concrete Restoration/Building Science Technician to join their team working on projects in and around the Toronto area. Reporting to the Building Engineering Services Manager, the successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced and rapidly expanding group.
Under the direction of the Group Leader and Project Manager, this individual will:
Assist in Conducting parking garage and balcony slab building condition assessments and prepare reports
Assist in preparation of design specifications and drawings for various rehabilitation projects including parking garage, balcony slab and other concrete structures
Assist in site reviews for parking structure and balcony slab concrete and waterproofing restoration projects and new construction
Produce site observation reports
Assist the Project Manager in contract administration
This individual may be required to interact with the client, at the Manager’s direction
Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all sites and report to Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee Members
Participate in/perform other technical and administrative tasks as requested by exp Services
Some regional travel may be required
Will be required to use suspended access equipment (working from heights)
The Skills, Knowledge and Abilities We Seek
College degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science or a related field is an asset
1-2 years’ experience in the Building Engineering industry
Experience with concrete restoration including waterproofing and other building envelope inspections is an asset
Experience with parking structure and balcony condition surveys is an asset
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Experience with AutoCAD is an asset
Fully conversant with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications
Organized, works well under pressure and able to deal with situations with tact
A valid driver's license and vehicle is required
Must be able to meet project deadlines
A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Strong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail
