Description

The Associate Producer will work closely with other producers and senior producers to help manage various game development projects. The ideal candidate will act as an integral link between producers, QA, internal and external development partners, and marketing to help ensure that each product takes full advantage of the target platform and meets PopCap’s uncompromising quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with producers on design and production tasks, develop and track product schedules, and anticipate problem spots in production before they happen.

  • Facilitate communication with external development partners on daily production issues and help make sure that development tasks don’t fall through the cracks.

  • Facilitate communication with key internal stakeholders to distribute builds for review, capture creative and technical feedback, and present feedback to developers and project producers.

  • Work with QA and producers to track incoming and outgoing builds and assets to make sure that everyone has what they need to keep production moving on a game.

  • Provide creative and critical feedback on projects to ensure that the “soul” of an existing game survives despite various technical challenges and limitations of a platform.

  • Act as an advocate for projects within the studio to gather feedback and generate excitement among key creative stakeholders at the company.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 3+ years of producing experience in the games industry, with at least 2 shipped products.

  • A good understanding of games, with the ability to identify flaws in design, art, and “feel”

  • Strong communication and writing skills, with experience communicating both creative and technical feedback.

  • Good understanding of the game development process, from planning through release

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and projects.

Education and/or Certifications:

· High School Diploma is required.

· BA in Computer Science and/or related field and experience is preferred
