Deployment EngineerSyneren is currently looking for a Deployment Engineer to assist in the production contract management of a substantial acquisition for the National Weather Service. Travel is required for this position less than 50% of the time. Work location is primarily Silver Spring, MD and Sterling Field Support Center, VA.Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, logistics or program management and 10 years of progressive, proven experience

  • Excellent written and oral communications and client relationship management skills. Candidates must be able to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of audiences

  • Deployment or engineering experience for a federal agency or contractor working on a defined “major acquisition program” or major commercial program

  • Broad technical project experience, including the implementation, application and support of management and logistics tools and services – i.e. knowledgeable in practical aspects of project management, program controls, and project management software

  • Knowledgeable in deployment plan development and implementation, such as maintenance, logistics life cycle, initial deployment, program controls, and documentation

  • Proven experience in the implementation, integration and application of Microsoft Project

  • Excellent team building and implementation skills

  • Experience managing/leading deployment and logistics related efforts to define and execute goals and objectives, plans, and timelines, and providing quality assurance of deliverables

  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to develop and manage test strategies and plans, and execute test scenarios

  • Ability to understand Production Drawing Packages

  • Possesses or is able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with diverse team members or multidiscipline collaboration

  • Prior major program management experience, including direct reports

  • Prior leadership experience in both functional and program roles

  • Understanding of metrics

  • Ability to work with multiple Federal Agencies and help develop usable deployment strategies and implementation

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in the areas of deployment and logistics

  • Lead the project deployment strategy definition, to include mid-lifecycle adjustments if necessary

  • Document government directed changes – including the associated impacts on cost, schedule, and risk – in the overall project management plan and schedules, or where applicable, other controlling documents

  • Identify and coordinate with appropriate internal and external subject matter experts (SME) to identify the holders of information necessary to advance the task or deliverable

  • Process and analyze the information gathered from the federal SMEs, as well as internal and external stakeholder,s to assemble a comprehensive overview of the subject matter for use in executing tasks, authoring deliverables, and to support decision making

  • Plan and facilitate technical working groups

  • Develop and submit engineering and technical artifacts, memoranda, and written presentations required to support the Department’s Management Review Board meetings, and milestone reviews throughout each phase of the project

  • Assist the ASOS PM in all deployment related activities
