Job Description:

GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Lead Logistician SME at our Regional Support Center in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. This position requires someone to have a current and active Secret clearance. This position will be to lead and manage the day to day operation of the the overall supply chain management and requires an individual who is self-motivated, able to provide clear direction and able to make command decisions on the spot in order to achieve the aims of the organization.

This position requires a logistician will also serve as the onsite Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) subject matter expert (SME). In this capacity, you will assume GCSS-A stand-alone roles as the Unit Supply Facility Manager, Unit Commander, Asset Visibility Manager, Master Driver (Trainer), Maintenance Supply Tech, Maintenance Support OPS and also secondary user roles in Supply, Property Book, Unit Supply, Maintenance, and Warehouse business areas.

You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of GCSS-A Wave II at the RSC Kuwait and be responsible for data migration tasks, daily operational and training tasks, Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) support, addressing system networking, hardware and/or software issues, developing onsite GCSS-A policies and standard operating procedures, reporting equipment readiness and supply trends and providing leadership and technical guidance to other personnel in performing these tasks.

Role responsibilities:

In addition to the above, your responsibilities will include the supervision and leadership of day-to-day operations such as

  • Lead and develop a cohesive team.

  • Compile, submit, and analyze accurate daily, weekly, and monthly CDRL reports.

  • Responsible for overall performance of the logistical team.

  • Responsible for ensuring customer expectations are met, exceeded and managed as cost effectively as possible.

  • Responsible for inventory control to account for property received, shipped, ecessed, moved or transferred.

  • Responsible for all purchasing, shipping and transportation, inventory, warehousing, and delivery activities.

  • Oversee business relationships with suppliers and customers.

  • Oversee the movement of a range of goods, people, or supplies, from common consumer goods to military supplies.

  • Oversee the full order cycle.

  • Ensure company vehicles supplied are kept clean and tidy at all times, serviced within country sponsor’s guideline, and ensure any defects are notified to correct parties and rectified in a timely manner.

  • Explain proposed solutions to customers, management, or other interested parties through written proposals and oral presentations.

  • Review proposals and performance specifications between suppliers/subcontractors and the organization.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and lead a cohesive team.

  • Plan and manage logistics, inventory, transportation and customer services

  • Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement.

  • Ensure the delivery of products on time and to the right location

  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.

  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.

  • Carry out any additional duties requested by the RSC Team.

The Ideal Candidate must have:

  • Current and Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance.

  • Prior service experience as an Army Enlisted (92A, 92Y, 94W, 94Z) military occupational specialty (MOS) or Warrant Officer (948B, 948D) MOS (WOMOS), exhibiting proficiency in these tasks during onboarding and pre-deployment training.

  • BS or equivalent + 5 years related experience, or MS + 3 years related experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid driver's license and U.S. Passport.

  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
