Thermite Welding Supervisor

Full Time Permanent
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Key role is to supervise all internal weld quality and implement continuous improvement specific to weld quality.
Work with and monitor new hires to improve their weld capabilities.
Manage work in progress and maintain a schedule
Schedule labour & equipment
Work night shifts and weekends
Ensure that all company and customer related quality standards are maintained on all fabrications.
Responsible to ensure hours are logged to proper job and report daily for payroll.
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with all Health & Safety regulations
Perform any additional duties per manager’s direction
5 + years in Thermite Welding
3+ years of Supervisory experience
CROR Qualification considered an asset
Basic Working knowledge of Microsoft office software
Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient and profitable manner.
Must have superior welding and grinding skills. Must also be able to recognize welder faults and correct them through training.
High attention to detail and very accurate with the ability to read customer supplied Engineered Drawings
Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others, have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated
Thorough knowledge of the Thermite Welding process and welding properties of various types of metals.
Certified by Contractor Orientation, e*Railsafe and Railway Maintenance Machine Operation
