We are looking for a Revenue Cycle Services Analyst who will observe
the billing and insurance process workflow at various clinics and make
recommendations on areas that could be streamlined or improved. You will need
to deep dive into the process and issues.
You will be working in collaboration with Revenue Cycle Services
leadership, partners with UTHealth, UT Physicians, third party providers,
partner clinics and hospitals staff to maximize revenue cycle performance. You
must be able to carry out in-depth analysis, providing insight, feedback and
guidance on trends and issues identified, and provides the data and
understanding necessary to support decision making, project prioritization, and
improvements across the revenue cycle.
This role will engage with the clinics in-person and also via
phone or Skype. It will require that you go out occasionally to be on-site at
various clinics in and around the Houston area.
You must understand revenue cycle processes as they apply to
clinics and hospitals. If you have experience with GE Centricity software that
is a plus! It is the billing system which supports both scheduling appointments
and claims associated with them for UTHealth. You will also need to be a
proficient advanced level user of Microsoft’s Excel spreadsheet program. As a Service Analyst you will complete
advanced reports about billing and claims processing.
This is a full time role that works normal business hours during
the week. It will require an employee to
report to an office located just south of NRG Stadium. It is eligible for full
benefits including low cost healthcare and an excellent retirement plan run by
the State of Texas.
Collaborates closely with revenue cycle services leadership and other
team members to develop communications and monthly reporting packages in order
to provide consistent and reliable support to internal and external customers.
- Works independently to assess and understand areas of need; compares
information across the institution and helps identify the most significant
issues and opportunities for improvement within the revenue cycle.
- Provides analytical support and subject matter expertise to all change
management, projects and process improvement efforts across revenue cycle
- When appropriate, provides on the ground guidance and support to
departments and clinics across the UTHealth practice plan.
- When appropriate, provides communication and relationship building with
payers and third party contractors in order to make improvements in the revenue
- Develops an in-depth understanding of assigned customer base as it
relates to revenue cycle, and technologies and processes that impact revenue
- Supports the development and implementation of training to enable
adoption of changes in revenue cycle and to sustain improvements.
- Supports the identification of specific areas of improvement within
GECB; helps analyze and provides input on prototypes and testing of changes
based on in-depth understanding of customer base and their needs.
- Travels to physician practice locations within the greater Houston
area to observe and assist with customer needs.
- Builds strong relationships with all facets of the organization
related to revenue cycle operations. Becomes a trusted partner for all parties
involved with deep departmental knowledge.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Strong analytical and
communication (oral and written) skills with a broad understanding and
willingness to learn the scope of the entire revenue cycle. Proficiency in
various practice management systems, MS Office products as well as various
claim scrubber technologies preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in
preferably in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related;
equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Three (3) years of
revenue cycle experience, including AR Follow Up, Registration, Scheduling,
Eligibility, Insurance Verification (Full Benefits Review), Authorizations, and
any revenue cycle patient or payer focused tasks. These skills would preferably
have been obtained in an academic physician practice environment.
Exerts up to 20 pounds
of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible
amount constantly to move objects.
