This job was posted by http://www.azjobconnection.gov : For more information, please see: http://www.azjobconnection.gov/ada/r/jobs/3237915 Job DescriptionThe Coordinator Sr. is part of the Student Organization team within the Memorial Union, which serves more than 800 student organizations, coordinates programming in the Memorial Union and Student Pavilion and to the greater campus community. This position provides day-to-day advisement and developmental resources to student organizations and their individual members to increase student impact in creating positive social change at Arizona State University and in the greater community.Additionally, this position coordinates programs that advance civic engagement among the student organizations at ASU. This position reports to the Assistant Director of the Memorial Union - Student Organizations and Involvement.Essential DutiesProvides advisement and direction to the planning of Sun Devils Unite Week of Philanthropy, and Homeless and Hunger Awareness Week.Advises staff and students to ensure student organizations have knowledge and access to programs such as Innovation Challenge, 10,000 Solutions, Devils in Disguise and Ignite @ ASU.Takes the lead on planning several departmental events such as Passport to ASU, LEAD Conference, Passing the Pitchfork, and various involvement fairs.Serves as a representative to ensure all aspects of function/program are implemented and controlled according to plans and risk management guidelines.Performs tasks related to specific function/program assigned, such as tracking event attendance and developing brochuresWorks to maximize use of existing software systems to include OrgSync and the new platform, Engage.Serves as staff advisor to Collegetown Student Organization.Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings and conferences for student organizations related to leadership training, risk management education, organizational behavior, event planning strategies etc.Orients new officers and members about the history and purpose of their organization and assists in future goal setting.Assists student organizations in understanding and interpreting University policy and regulations.Holds students accountable for roles and responsibilities and addresses inappropriate behavior, specifically those which violate University and student organization policy.Develops and delivers comprehensive student organization advisor training and instruction.Assists student organizations and outside organizations in scheduling facilities and on campus services.Represents the college/department and serves on various department and university committees; attends seminars, workshops and conferences.Collaborates with colleagues and campus-wide partners in student affairs, academic colleges, and on other ASU campuses to provide direct support and guidance to student organizations.Helps promote Spirit, Pride, and Tradition among colleagues and students by implementing and participating in programs that promote ASU Pride.Work location is primarily at the Tempe Campus; however, incumbent may occasionally be required to travel to off-campus events and other ASU campuses.DAYS and SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; may include occasional evening and weekend hours based on event programming and operational needs.
