Description of work to be done:

Under the supervision of the Business Services Manager and in the presence of a Medical Provider, the clinical scribe provides annotation, in the electronic medical record, of any dictated, written, or verbally communicated information for the treatment of patients following all local, state and federal regulations for documentation. Provides medical assistant duties within the scope of practice and under the supervision of a Medical Provider. In addition, this role provides Chronic Care Management to Elizabeth Supportive Medical Specialist patients. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, values and quality commitment of The Elizabeth Hospice.

Work hours: M-F, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Status: Full time

Shift: Days; 8 hour shifts

Weekends: No

On-call: No

Qualifications:

+ + High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Post high school Vocational/Specialized training.

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse Required.

  • Preferred 1-2 years’ experience in direct patient care

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in residential care/ assisted living setting.

  • Must possess current California Medical Assistant Certification or licensed vocational nurse certification.

  • Current CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.

  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records.

  • Because this is a field position, must be able to drive in various conditions, including but not limited to windy/steep roads, night driving, and rural areas, and be able to enter homes with pets.
