In Vaisala’s Weather and Environment business area, our forward-thinking team focuses on providing solutions to react on challenging weather or air quality conditions.

We partner with our customers to help them make the most informed decisions whenever environmental insight matters.

This position is responsible for the production of products within the Renewable Energy Assessment Product Line, consisting primarily of consulting engineering reports and associated data files.

The position is global in scope, requiring interaction with clients, sales teams, and off site production staff in multiple locations around the world.

Your key responsibilities include

  • Produce resource assessment reports (wind & solar) using Vaisala's in house software

  • Insure the technical accuracy of Vaisala's resource assessment products, including assessment reports

  • Quality control data received by Vaisala in support of assessment projects

  • Other duties as assigned

Who we are looking for

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience using scripting languages, such as Ruby or Python, in a UNIX/Linux environment

  • Experience performing efficiency analysis on wind turbines

  • Knowledge of statistical methods including time series analysis and uncertainty analysis.

  • Proficient in handling and analyzing large datasets

  • Knowledge of renewable energy assessment techniques

  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented atmosphere where close and effective coordination with other professionals is essential for success

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills

Educational Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in physical sciences, engineering, or other applied science preferred.
