The Vice President, Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the advertising media strategies and plan development for the Bank’s various lines of business. He/she will develop, implement and manage media planning strategies in support of brand/advertising campaigns and manage an agency partner in the successful implementation of these plans.
Develop and present strategic recommendations on advertising media campaigns that align to the Bank’s business goals and support our various lines of business
Manage external agencies in the day to day support of media planning activity, providing clear direction and ensuring that plans will meet the marketing plan objectives prior to presentation to internal stakeholders
Responsible for the planning, buying and optimization of bank’s paid media, including TV, Radio, Print, Out-of-Home and digital channels
Monitor plan implementation to ensure that media is placed correctly and manage make good needs and plan revisions as they arise
Continue to refine rate card benchmark analysis and ensure that agency is held accountable to achieving the best rates for the Bank Partner closely with the advertising team to align media recommendations with creative availability and lead times
Conduct in depth analysis of competitive media spend and provide thought leadership on trends
At a minimum, the right candidate should meet the following criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising or related fields is required
10 years of experience in marketing/advertising with a focus on media planning and execution
Experience on both the agency and client side of advertising strongly preferred, including the management of agency partners and/or media reps
Minimum of 3 years financial services experience is recommended (or experience in another highly regulated industry)
Strong, clear and compelling communication skills that are leveraged in presentations and POVs
Excellent project management skills which are required to ensure timely delivery of recommendations and plans
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to think “outside of the box” to solve complex problems and bring forth recommendations that will best meet the marketing plan objectives
Proven track record of success in developing, championing and stewarding fully integrated media campaigns
High degree of business acumen, flexibility and comfort with change
Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire others/effect change
