The Division of Nephrology, Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking physician scientists to join our growing team at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor level. Under new leadership, the Division is rapidly expanding and providing innovative approaches for all aspects of kidney disease. By emphasizing a Precision Medicine approach, the Division is a leader in this exciting area of clinical Nephrology. This position offers the opportunity to develop your own clinical research program, attend on multiple clinical services, develop new educational initiatives and teach medical students and fellows. UT Health San Antonio is the premier academic research center in San Antonio and South Texas, and our Nephrology fellowship program is one of the largest in the country. We are one of only 5 Kidney Precision Medicine Tissue interrogation sites in the country. We aim to build on our existing strengths in diabetes, acute kidney injury, aging, cardio-renal disease, fibrosis, and genetic basis of kidney disease to become national leaders in basic, translational, and clinical Nephrology research.

Candidates for the position must hold a Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or foreign equivalent degree, have completed an internal medicine residency and a nephrology fellowship. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Texas Medical License, be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or eligible in Nephrology. Those who wish to be considered for Associate Professor Rank must have extensive clinical experience. The rank and salary will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications.
