Job Description:

This position will be responsible for developing software requirements and software development utilizing C++. Must have software test knowledge and will be involved in the entire software life cycle, including software design, coding, integration, debugging, and full documentation. Provides software engineering and engineering support as an individual contributor under technical direction. This position required a broad general knowledge of software engineering principles, theories and techniques.

Provides software engineering and engineering support, research, evaluation and development for highly complex and technical space-based aerospace products. Uses the application of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Designs, develops, tests and verifies complex engineering tasks in software, systems, and/or hardware components. Work may encompass a wide range of sophisticated (cross-discipline) engineering problem resolutions. The role can involve software design and development engineering assignments related to products and systems including the engineering of new products or updates to existing products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing complex software applications and components working directly with HW/SW

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of the C++, programming languages (Visual Studio a plus)

  • Cross-platform application development (Linux and Windows)

  • Ability to derive HW control requirements from test procedures Multi-threaded programming

  • Excellent object-oriented design skills

  • Experience data acquisition programming using NI-DAQmx

  • Experience in hardware control programming using NI-DAQmx

  • An understanding of database tables and SQL

  • Experience writing Windows™ dynamic link libraries

  • Local and remote control of lab instruments (O-Scopes, Logic Analyzers)

  • Ability to read hardware schematics

  • Experience with CM automation tools, JIRA a plus

  • Linux familiarity a plus

  • LabView programming a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with Windows™ and MS Office™ (Visio, Excel)
