Payroll Practitioner III / Payroll Specialist

Datrose has an exciting opportunity for employment as aPayroll Practionerin Henrietta, NY. The chosen candidate would be responsible for providing quality customer service while supporting a full range of payroll processing, recordingkeeping and accounting activities including utilizing Kronos timekeeping and Oracle Employee Self Serve.All job responsibilities will be performed at the facility of ourClient.This position is a temporary role.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and external customers

  • Calculate payments ensuring that all payments are made within Company guidelines – including calculation of new hire, termination and retroactive payments including tax calculations and data entry into Oracle HRMS/Payroll

  • Execute all payroll pre-processing reports for the semi-monthly and/or bi-weekly payroll utilizing Oracle.

  • Process the semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll utilizing Oracle Payroll ensuring all processes are submitted with the correct parameters to ensure a complete and accurate payroll

  • Coordinate the processing of all cycle payments; this includes the processing of Off Cycle Paychecks in lieu of cash advances, as well as Void and Reissues

  • Ensure income tax withholding compliance for payments made to nonresident aliens including employee wages, fellowships, scholarships, non-employee services and certain reimbursable expenses

  • Prepare timekeeping records for bi-weekly payroll processing including correction of overlapping and missing punches, completion of mass payroll sign-off, and run the overtime calculation program for students with multiple jobs

  • Transfer hours from the timekeeping system to the Oracle application using Kronos Connect and the Batch Element Entry utility within Oracle

  • Process FWS roll-over calculation and FICA updates

  • Resolve costing errors by working close with Human Resources, Student Employment, Accounting and Sponsored Program Accounting and prepare journal entries as needed

  • Maintain departmental mailbox, insuring that all questions are answered accurately and promptly

  • Complete various tasks as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirement:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration and/or equivalent of education combined with experience

  • 3-5+ years of accounting or payroll experience

  • Knowledge of payroll operations and payroll tax reporting preferred

  • Preferred knowledge of Oracle HRMS/Payroll and/or PeopleSoft

  • Strong PC Skills including high proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Kronos Time and Attendance and Arctic International NRA software is not required, but preferred
