Purpose of Position:

PROVIDE CLINICAL PSYCHIATRY SERVICES TO PATIENTS AT VCUHS AND AFFILIATED COMMUNITY PARTNERS PROVIDE CLINICAL AND DIDACTIC EDUCATION TO UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE MEDICAL TRAINEES AND OTHER TRAINEES AS ASSIGNED IN PSYCHIATRY AND MENTAL HEALTH.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching – 5% Assists with teaching and training of fellows, residents and medical students

  2. Service – 5% Departmentally assigned committees, team leadership and Good Citizenship activities

  3. Clinical – 90% clinical activities caring for patients, composed of 30% inpatient consultation, 20% outpatient practice, 40% liaison to specialty programs

Required Qualifications:

BE/BC PSYCHIATRIST

• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. • Board eligible or certified in Psychosomatic Medicine (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an academic setting.
