Purpose of Position:

Enhance department scholarship through research, publish manuscripts, and submit grant proposals for extramural funding. In addition to teaching responsibilities, employee will directly develop research skills for undergraduate and graduate students so they can be engaged in scholarly activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Teach one upper level UG or G course each semester in plant ecology and coastal ecology. Perform coastal ecology research in barrier island systems along the North American Atlantic coast. Mentor UG, MS, and PhD students. Submit research proposals. Contribute to department service.

Required Qualifications:

PhD required. Postdoctoral experience required. Teaching experience required. Experience working across scales ranging from the organismal to landscape using laboratory studies, fieldwork, and remote sensing. Strong record of graduate and undergraduate research mentoring. Demonstrated course development and instruction including undergraduate and graduate-level plant ecology and coastal ecology. Demonstrated the potential to secure funding for research. Preferred Qualifications:

Strong background in plant physiological ecology. Research focus on barrier island systems along the North American Atlantic coast
