Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Test Engineer 3 to perform on a team of cross-discipline specialist engineers located in Redondo Beach, CA with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Integration, test, and evaluation of a laser system.

  • Authoring integration and test procedures.

  • Applying engineering principles to affect development and testing of electromechanical systems, instruments, and controls.

  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and understanding of configuration management processes.

  • Directs set-up of tooling and fixtures, integration activities, and test execution.

  • Oversees the operational aspects of engineering tests and serves as liaison to program, engineering, and line management.

  • Reviews status of test requirements, manages schedules, and prepares reports.

  • Supervises technicians during integration and test.

  • Assesses anomalies and develops resolutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math major, with5 years of related experience, or3 years with a Master's degree

  • Understanding of, and experience in the Test and Evaluation environment and processes

  • Demonstrated ability to produce, analyze, and evaluate test data

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches

  • Knowledge of basic knowledge of system engineering processes

  • Experience with high energy laser systems and associated optical and sensor components

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
