Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the Cache Management and Inventory Management Plans.
  • Provides cache management with Fire Loss information and reports for all Type 1, 2 and 3 incidents within a geographic area.
  • Coordinates on-going emergency situations and establishes levels of personnel and equipment which are currently needed or which will likely be required to meet the support needs of an incident or complex of incidents.
  • Implements restocking supply levels to meet supply demands for NISC Type 2 facility.
  • Implements the operational application, utilization and monitors the integrity of an automated inventory system.
  • Responsible for the operational accomplishment of returns and refurbishment insuring inspection of all returned equipment to determine the need for repair and/or replacement Prepares accurate records of work completed, materials used and costs involved with established Cache Management and Inventory Plans.
  • Maintains extensive records system to meet OSHA, DOT and government regulatory records.
  • Performs supervisory duties 20% or less of the time.
  • Demonstrates leadership in establishing and maintaining a work environment that is free from discrimination and creates a sense of inclusion and support for all employees in the workplace.

In order for you to be considered qualified for this position applicants must possess one of the following options below. If qualifying with experience be sure to clearly outline your experience in your resume/work history. If qualifying using education please be sure to provide a clear copy of your transcripts from an accredited university/college.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level; OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related; ORan appropriate combination of specialized experience and education NOTE: **Only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university by the U.S. Department of Education and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

Specialized experienceis defined as one or more of the following: Assisted senior level specialist with coordinating and establishing levels of personnel and equipment needed to meet the support needs of national incidents of fire emergencies or disasters; assisted with maintaining an inventory system for cache equipment and supplies to accomplish the logistics support; prepared initial resupply orders final approval from senior level specialist that included replacements for material used in suppression activities including managing transportation and material handling equipment; and prepared initial records of work completed, materials used and costs involved with established plans that were submitted to senior level specialist for final approval.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
