General Summary

Under general direction, maintain VSP's legendary service to clients and brokers by completing service requests, resolving questions/issues and installing new clients within timeframe expectations.

Essential Functions

Research, resolve, document and respond to communications from clients and brokers and provides operational support to sales.

Gathers, analyzes, interprets and communicates group requirements and needs to other VSP departments to ensure accurate information is available to support client’s plan design and to ensure client expectations are met. Implements all clients in VSP systems.

Maintain and organize client correspondence to ensure consistent, accurate and professional responses.

Interfaces with VSP departments, clients, brokers, account executives and client managers to identify creative alternatives that will address and resolve client issues and problems. Recommends solutions.

Support the Client Portal/Resource Center by providing information and responding to questions. Support future Broker Portal.

Generate proposals for new and renewing standard pooled clients.

Complete standard pooled renewal documentation process.

Identify sales opportunities and forward leads to appropriate sales staff.

Generate and distribute client documentation.

Act as first line of backup support in extended absence of sales members.

Represent the department on corporate and divisional projects as needed. Communicate impacts and work with management to develop solutions.

Assist in training and serve as a resource to new client broker representatives.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following experience or abilities:

High School Diploma or GED required

Two to four years of customer service, customer support, or administrative support experience

Proficient in a Windows environment with word processing, spreadsheet application and data entry

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate plan and installation information

Ability to have a solution-oriented approach to work

Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve moderately complex problems

Must be flexible and adaptable

Preferred Skills

Excellent time management

Excellent written and oral communication

Ability to multi-task

Proficient with Microsoft programs especially Word and Excel

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The working environment is generally favorable, lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
