R&D Project Manager The R&D Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from conception to product launch/closeout. They will be skilled at managing cross functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met. They will possess excellent communication, and are able to regularly report project statuses to the executive team. Duties/Responsibilities: Receives priorities and project specifics and generally can develop, plan and prioritize day to day activities. Understands the Stage Gate process and deliverables; supports, implements, and defends the Stage Gate process. Ensures proper scope elicitation and manages scope change, communication, issues, risks, and organizational change to meet project objectives. Solicits inputs to schedule, develops and drives project activities. Defines inputs/outputs (deliverables) for assigned projects. Identifies and coordinates needed resources in support of project. Facilitates team meetings, takes notes, and ensures action items are completed in a timely manner. Defines and manages specific roles and responsibilities for the project. Communicates expectations to project team members and is capable of holding them accountable for their responsibilities. Can discern when project issues require elevation to project sponsor and/or upper management Utilizes and maintains Project Management tools such as project plan, risk analysis, project charter, etc. Able to manage moderately complex projects. Responsible for planning own work assignments within specific guidelines form leadership. Takes advantage of various learning opportunities to build knowledge and skills in professional and functional role. Applies creativity to revise/improve product launches. Possesses a general understanding of the business and how their function and role fits into it.
