The Bradley Center Substitute Teacher in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The Bradley Center is a trauma-based residential treatment facility for children and adolescents, ages 6-18 with mental health and/or developmental disabilities.
The Substitute Teacher position is a direct care position working with the residents in a variety of capacities. Some of the job responsibilities will include serving as the substitute classroom teacher, which includes executing the teachers’ lesson plans, behavior management, teaching daily living skills, transporting residents to off-grounds outings or appointments and crisis intervention and prevention (including being trained to perform therapeutic restraints)
Bachelor degree in Education
Requires a PA Department of Education Certification, Special Education certification preferred.
Experience working with children/adolescents in a human service or psychiatric setting is preferred.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule.
The teacher will be paid a per diem rate of $100 for each day worked.
