The Team

The Enterprise Finance Group reports to the CFO and is responsible for the development and management of Functional Finance Support, Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis, Management Reporting Data, Forecasting and Reporting Tools, and the Finance Centers of Excellence (COEs), including but not limited to: Cost Allocations, Fee Income Forecasting, Expense Forecasting, and Balance Sheet Forecasting. The Group works in partnership with the Line of Business Finance Group to provide finance support across the enterprise.

The Balance Sheet COE reports to the Head of Enterprise Finance and is responsible for supporting activities needed to generate and analyze balance sheet and net interest income forecasts. The team uses a model based approach partnering closely with Business Finance and Modeling COE partners. The team is responsible for supporting balance inputs and assumptions related to ALM interest rate risk scenarios as well as stress test and resolution planning scenarios which demand effective partnership with key stakeholders in Business Finance, Corporate ALM, Corporate Enterprise Risk Group, Modeling COE and across the Balance Sheet COE.

The Role*

The Balance Sheet COE team supports the FP&A Quarterly forecast, monthly Interest Rate Risk scenarios, month end estimate, semi-annual Stress Tests and Resolution Plan balance sheet forecasting.

Finance Sr Consultant responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:

  • Execute FP&A Quarterly forecast focused on Assets (primarily loans), including partnership with numerous stakeholders such as Business Finance and COE team members

  • Build deep understanding of dynamics related to balances, yield curve, yield and cost of funds

  • Coordinate and provide monthly and quarterly commentary including month end estimate, quarterly forecast, and quarterly Investor Relations process

  • Contribute to wide reaching Stress Test process and related documentation including partnership as needed with Business Finance, Corporate ALM, Corporate Enterprise Risk Group, Modeling COE, and across the Balance Sheet COE

  • Support Resolution Planning process and related documentation

General Finance Sr Consultant description:

  • Responsible for providing complex financial analysis as well as economic research in support of management decision-making

  • Responsible for creation, analysis and communication of various activities such as product pricing, product & portfolio performance, key metrics forecasting, closing analysis and validation

  • Provides key forecasting projections to support monthly and quarterly forecasting, balance sheet analysis as well as stress testing and resolution planning scenarios

  • Establishes and maintains effective & efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standards and internal control standards

  • Leads implementation of complex projects/initiatives

  • Understands compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and may support implementation of key risk initiatives

  • May directly or indirectly lead others

Location: Charlotte, NC; Des Moines, IA, Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ preferred and other Wells Fargo hub locations may be considered

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting

  • Ability to successfully operate in a complex and matrixed environment

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Essbase and/or SmartView experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of asset liability or liquidity management software, especially QRM

  • MS SQL server experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
