Position Description :
The Perioperative Assistant assumes the responsibility for logistical and environmental functions in the operating room. Skills in cleaning operating rooms and other interior and exterior areas of the operating room. Ability to operate different types of cleaning equipment. Understanding of collecting and transporting hazardous waste. Familiarity with the safe usage of different types of chemicals. Transport patient to and from the operating room. Transport and safe handling of blood products and surgical specimens. Ability to work independently and work in a team. Able to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Minimum Requirements :
High School diploma or equivalent. Previous hospital experience preferred.
