Position Description :
The Coordinator works with the Center for Transfusion - Free Medicine (CTSM) staff to ensure patient/customer focus, supports the delivery of the highest quality care, shares a passion for patient and customer centered care, and assists in meeting or exceeding patient satisfaction and financial and operational targets. Provides patient support and advocacy for anyone requesting bloodless medical management. Efficiently handles patient transfers and monitors patient needs. Refers patients to capable physicians and surgeons enrolled in the Center. Provides support to specific patient populations as requested. Collects relevant patient data as directed. Documents patient visits & needs and reports patient/family concerns to the appropriate parties. Routinely visits with patients at Pennsylvania Hospital. Serves on committees as assigned by the Office Manager. Assists with marketing and promoting CTSM as needed. Demonstrates flexibility by responding to changing workflow. Fulfills on call scheduling requirements efficiently. Must be able to work independently, capable of following direction from various levels of management. Requires strong organizational skills; excellent communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management as well as patients and their families; ability to exercise good judgment; and possession of a high degree of confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements :
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have general computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office. Must possess ability to discuss current non-blood strategies and have working knowledge of legal/social aspects of bloodless management, medical terminology and medical chart reading. A minimum of two years of experience in handling non-blood management issues in a hospital setting is preferred.
