Welcome to our team! We have a very exciting opportunity to join our business as the Seals Sales & Marketing Director for our newly established Seals and Forming business. Through direct sales and partnership programs, this business will continue to expand its service offering into new industry applications. Amsted Seals and Forming is the culmination of a highly successful innovation project, which has since evolved into an entirely new business of its own headquartered in Petersburg, Virginia. As a part of this ‘start-up’ atmosphere within Amsted Rail, you will be an important partner in shaping the growth of Amsted Seals & Forming.

Primary Job Function:

This position is responsible for marketing and sales of products to the seals market. Sales & Marketing Director responsibilities include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve financial targets. Duties will include hitting annual targets, building relationships and understanding customer trends. The Sales & Marketing Director is also responsible for new business development, making brand building strategies and identification of potential market segments. The Sales & Marketing Director is responsible for revenue generation through new account development and key account management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as a driver of innovation within the Seals and Forming marketing and sales teams

  • Represent Seals and Forming with current and potential customers either individually or through a team

  • Plan and administer marketing budget for Seals and Forming businesses

  • Work with executive team to develop market strategy based on organizational make-up, market nature, intellectual property, margins and cost factors.

  • Support and facilitate the development and execution of established marketing plans

  • Work with Amsted Rail and contracted resources to translate business marketing message into presentable media (website, presentations, handouts, promotional materials)

  • Develop and administer marketing database that includes prospect and client information (financial documents, reports, applications, contacts, etc.)

  • Coordinate marketing efforts and exchanges with JV partners

  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends, acting as an industry expert for the Seals market

Support promoting a non-union environment based on the foundation of Value of the Person

  • Must be very approachable and able to develop strong professional relationships and foster involvement at all levels of organization including the customer

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, with the ability to persuade non-technical customers andemployees

  • Must have high attention to detail with ability to oversee projects from origin through execution

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business with a minimum of 10 years’ marketing experience in the Seals industry

  • MBA or Marketing Masters preferred

Willingness to travel as much as 40% of the time
