Active Media Services, Inc. Associate, New Business Development (NBD), Entry-Level in Pearl River, New York

Seeking highly motivated, aggressive lead generation talent to help build Active’s new business pipeline. The primary responsibility of the Associate, NBD is to generate interest in Active’s business model from qualified prospects and business leads using various touch points (e.g., cold calling, email, social media, SalesForce.com, internet research and marketing endeavors). This role will research the relevant business objectives, initiatives and/or underperforming assets/services of prospective clients. The Associate, NBD then strategizes with Active’s outside salespeople to determine the most effective way to engage with the prospect, including customizing a value proposition that describes the benefits of Active’s full suite of programs and resources. The ultimate goal of the Associate, NBD role is to gain traction with perspective clients while collaborating with Active’s outside salespeople in developing and executing new business relationships and revenue growth.

Initiate outbound prospecting endeavors via telephone, e-mail, direct mail, trade shows, and other vehicles to obtain information, qualify the prospect and ultimately coordinate opportunities for an outside sales representative to engage with a prospect in person.

Work in concert with Active’s outside salespeople on key account strategies (i.e., finding an underperforming asset; identifying key decision makers, coordinating availability, etc.).

Participate in heavy phone prospecting.

Coordinate sales outreach efforts across various Active revenue teams.

Customize and clarify a compelling value proposition of Active's programs/business model for use when communicating to key decision makers.

Utilize in-depth knowledge of Active’s business model, value proposition, and related features and benefits in order to develop and lead/support new business efforts.

Research and target prospective companies which have a qualified spend in procurement areas where Active has established trading leverage.

As a pre-requisite to formalizing an initial new business conversation with a prospect, additional research is necessary to identify, address, research and overcome technical and business objections which may resonate from a prospect.

Conduct comprehensive research of a prospective company’s goals, initiatives, challenges, asset challenges, and spending activities via 3rd party sources including the internet, trade publications, direct company email/telephone contact, etc.

Manage follow-up efforts on business leads generated by other internal and external sources

Record, update and maintain all prospecting efforts and developments through daily utilization of Active’s CRM database.

Partner with Active’s marketing department and Active’s outside salespeople to coordinate targeted marketing campaigns specifically tailored for prospects that exist within Active’s CRM database.

Assist the sales department in coordinating information and meetings derived from trade shows and conferences; follow up with new contacts as applicable.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or equivalent experience required.

Up to one year of related sales experience desired; preferably in consultative/conceptual sales (e.g., insurance/financial services, asset management services or information technology sales).

Must be proficient in social media technologies (i.e., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Hoovers, Google Alerts, etc.) as well as demonstrate the ability to navigate and effectively utilize internet sites to extract business information and perform research.

General working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.

Proficiency with Outlook is required.

Knowledge of consumer product lifecycles, asset management and supply chain/logistics, a plus.

Media and/or Digital Media knowledge a plus.

Participation in a structured lead generation/telemarketing program, a plus.

Previous experience in creating or coordinating marketing materials, a plus.

Proficiency with Salesforce.com or other similar CRM application, a plus.

Travel

Nominal travel required (up to 5% of the time) for attending trade shows and conferences.
