The VMware Hands-on Labs deliver a fully operational live desktop environment for customers to experience VMware products. With more than 1 Million labs delivered to date, the Hands-on Labs is a key component of VMware’s marketing and sales efforts.

VMware is looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Marketing Architect to join our team. You would be called upon to demonstrate your skills and experience to build the content for our to educate customers on VMware products.

Members of our team are virtualization expert as well as evangelists, we have commanding understanding of VMware’s technologies and know how to integrate them into end to end solutions that address the business and IT challenges the customers. As a member this team, you will be engaging with internal engineering teams and content partners to support the development of new labs. The role’s core responsibility will be to assure lab content crafted for scalability, security, and reliability. Additionally, you are responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of Labs content and infrastructure.

Job Role and Responsibility

  • Provide Strategic guidance to lab creation team and lead the technical process in developing creative labs that drive lead generation and maturation.

  • Collaborate with team and partners from across the company.

  • Collaborate with back-end cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure functionally, scalability, and reliability of labs.

  • Track lab creation progress and status, identify and bring up issues.

  • Monitor for infrastructure and lab issues, and work with cloud and lab teams to make sure technical issues are addressed quickly.

Required Skills:

  • At least 7 years combined experience in some or all of the following:

  • Solutions architect or consultant in a professional services organization with experience in architecting and implementing enterprise class infrastructure services and business application solutions.

  • Technical marketing or technical product marketing for leading-edge products.

  • Systems engineering at an infrastructure technology or enterprise software company.

  • Software developer, architect, technology advocate, or consultant working with developer and operations technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work across teams.

  • Able to demonstrate both a passion for technologies and solutions, and a strong aptitude for business strategy.

  • self-starter, and able to set goals and direction on your own based on business needs.

  • Proven track record of developing and delivering formal and informal technical material aimed at educating customers, partners or sales teams - must be able to generate high quality and varied technical content at a sustained pace.

  • Willing to travel up to 25% in order to support Hands-on Labs events and to evangelize VMware technologies and solutions with partners, customers and business leaders.

  • Exceptional people, presentation, speaking and writing skills.

  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting solutions across multiple technology domains: servers, storage and networking.

  • Knowledge in Scripting and automation is required. PowerShell, PowerCLI, VBScript, bash.

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical degree is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • VMware technology and product experience is a must. A VCP is required, and a VCDX is highly desirable.
