Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Lead and own the design, development, and validation of new and existing Off-Road Vehicle chassis. This includes vehicle frames, ROPS, bumpers, and other structural members. Work closely with Project, Test, Validation, and Manufacturing Teams to ensure the chassis sub-system as a whole is meeting key deliverables and achieving industry leading standards. Create specifications, complete calculations, and construct models for superior performance, safety, and quality. In addition, must also work with Service, Purchasing, vendors, and others to ensure all aspects of the development process are covered and prepared for success. Position location is preferred to be at the Wyoming, MN facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create specifications for new or modified chassis

  • Work collaboratively with on/offshore resources to reach final design in the most efficient means

  • Take part in load collection process

  • Initiate and maintain DFMEAs and DVP&Rs

  • Work with the Quality team for root cause analysis activities and document lessons learned

  • Participate in key project milestones including Team Meetings, Design Reviews, Gate Reviews, and Safety Reviews

  • Gather, analyze, track and report on warranty and other consumer quality information related to system

  • Interact and direct resources across multiple engineering sites

  • Domestic and international travel can be required (<25%)

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in product engineering required

  • Ability to drive vehicles for development and testing purposes highly preferred

  • Experience with 3-D CAD modeling mandatory

  • Experience with Pro-E Creo preferred

  • Experience with Ansys or similar analysis software preferred

  • Experience with bolted joint analysis, GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups and experience with engineering standards preferred

  • Data acquisition experience preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment

  • Ability to work with domestic and international technology partners

  • Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
