The core function of the content specialist / copywriter position is to develop engaging content that support the company’s content strategy and business objectives. The ideal candidate will deliver high quality copy in a timely manner, never missing a deadline.. This is a copywriting-heavy role, focused on delivering compelling and accurate copy through a variety of mediums.

  • Collaborates with marketing to ensure steady flow of content creation that supports marketing strategies for customer marketing initiatives, demand generation initiatives, and channel marketing initiatives.

  • Identifies and implements strategies to increase digital leads for both direct marketing and channel marketing.

  • Follows and maintains strategic content marketing plan for all media outlets.

  • Works closely with the Sr. Content Strategist to support and fulfil the overarching content strategy for Fattmerchant.

  • Ensures all content meets high-quality standards while staying abreast of current trending topics, new developments in marketing, and industry best practices.

  • Continually tests content formats and distribution channels to determine optimal approach to reaching Fattmerchant’s target markets.

  • Reviews competitor’s marketing content to ensure Fattmerchant maintains its differentiated approach.

  • Copies/edits/proofs all content and copy for printed and digital marketing materials.

  • Assists Director of Marketing as needed.

  • Assists and supports with content creation/review for all other marketing department team members as well as all other members of the company.

  • Is a key player in the representation and evolution of the brand’s voice and ensure that it is consistently implemented across all platforms - from email to digital to social.

  • Conducts thorough research and attends meetings to gain an in-depth understanding of value-driven products and their impact on audiences.

  • Provides concise, accurate, and engaging copy for a variety of platforms and mediums

  • Contributes to and consistently supports the overall social media strategy by writing engaging posts, engaging directly with our audiences, striving to increase followers with compelling content and overall social media presence.

  • Collaborates with product marketing, channel marketing, content marketing, graphic design, and other areas of the business to deliver projects on scope and on time.

  • Applies SEO knowledge and best practices to work when appropriate and with little direction.

  • Effectively manages and organizes multiple projects and deadlines

  • Effectively proofreads and edits own work and the work of others

  • Is an active and curious observer of our industry and our competitors

  • Strong understanding of the users/consumers, and the ability to anticipate needs by understanding behavior

  • Work with creative and strategy teams on concept development for ongoing and seasonal campaigns

  • Participate in brainstorms and provide innovative ideas relative to digital landscape and trends


  • Bachelor Degree in Communications, Media, English, Marketing, or other related field

  • Highly developed and advanced communication skills

  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Extreme attention to detail, accuracy

  • Passion for research, editing, writing, and strong attention to detail
