Northrop Grumman Microcircuit Device Test Engineer 2/3 in null, United States

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Advanced Technology Laboratory located in Linthicum, MD is seeking motivated test engineers to join our high-performance team supporting test of superconducting microcircuits. Testing of prototype devices is performed in a hands-on lab environment.

The test engineer will work with physicists and design engineers to characterize and debug superconducting microcircuits; support physicists in performing cryogenic testing and analyses on superconducting electronics circuits.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Developing procedures, methods, and tools for test

  • Troubleshoot testing issues

  • Development oftest code

  • Documentation oftest plans and procedures

  • Evaluation oftest data

  • Identify and develop test improvements, optimization, and automation

This job may be filled at a level2 or a level3 based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for a level 2:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with2 years of relevant experience, 0 years with Masters Degree

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

  • Software/scripting experience specifically with MATLAB

  • Experience with test equipment (Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Wave form Generators etc.)in a lab environment

  • Knowledgeable of digital and analog electronics concepts

Basic Qualifications for a level 3:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD)

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

  • Software/scripting experience specifically with MATLAB

  • Experience with test equipment (Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Wave form Generators etc.)in a lab environment

  • Knowledgeable of digital and analog electronics concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Secret or TS/SCI clearance

  • Strong programming skills

  • Experience with cryogenic device testing
