Bureau Vertias North America Food Product Test Analyst - Quincy, MA in New York
Offer product testing and problem resolution, as applicable for any client issues identified, highlighted or questioned with the aim of enhancing client satisfaction and improving client relations.
Provide proactive assistance to clients by identifying and resolving product issues, along with providing timely and accurate test results and information to both internal and external clients that meet or exceed their expectations.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
Understand and interpret standards for appropriate test methods, providing direction to techs
Reviews contract requirements prior to testing in order to assure adherence to client requirements
Evaluate products submitted for testing for quality / safety issues, providing direction to techs, as required
Prepare and evaluate a variety of samples for testing using prescribed testing methods following testing standards / specifications, providing direction to techs as required. (As applicable per lab practices)
Conducts testing or analyzes a variety of consumer products samples for basic bench analysis and limited analytical instrumentation using prescribed testing methods following testing standards / specifications appropriate to the sample, providing direction to techs
Conduct testing on Food products including, but not limited to, perceptual qualities, grading to USDA Standards, percent solids/moisture, pH, viscosity, dimensions and weight, and titrations (HBHF)
Accurately record test data
Train temporary employees on sample preparation method and test methods, as applicable to site.
Assist with department testing in other areas , providing direction to techs, as required
Prepares and reviews written technical reports, as applicable
Perform final review and interpret data / reports as required. (As applicable per lab practices)
Prepares verbal and written communication internal and external clients, regarding administrative and technical issues, with direction
Provides technical consultation to internal and external clients in a limited scope with direction from senior staff
Interface with staff members internally and at other locations on interpretations and to ensure global consistency with direction from senior staff
Research and development of new testing services / methods, in a limited capacity with direction from senior staff
Write, train, implement and update lab procedures, test protocols, and technical procedures.
Calibrate, operate, and maintain testing equipment, maintain supplies, lab cleanliness and instrumentation
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Method development skills
Strong written and verbal communications skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting
Possess and demonstrate knowledge of food science, chemistry, laboratory procedures and equipment with emphasis on Food chemistry.
Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to interpret FDA and other applicable regulations/standards.

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job
4 year Science or related degree with 0-1 years related technical experience; or
2 year related degree and 2 years related technical experience
