Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Develop a risk focused Control Self Assessment framework and methodology for HQA.

  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the team and assessment processes.

  • Develop/enhance a robust reporting structure for control activities and periodically update senior management on the results.

  • Track industry developments by monitoring web sites and industry periodicals, and enhance scorecards, dashboards and rating methodology.

  • Execute Incident Factor Analysis for operational incidents and conduct regulatory assessments and operational risk reviews for targeted businesses.

  • Serve as the Bank's Operational Risk Specialist in issue tracking, business risks and controls, new product process, and the Bank's system implementation under the Electronic Project Life Cycle (e-PLC) reviews and assessments.

  • Manage the Bank's New Product Committee approval process for the Americas.

  • Manage the PSR Framework and ensure it meets FRB requirements.

  • Work with internal control functions to establish a new ORM Risk and Control assessment methodology and framework within HQA.

  • Manage and develop ORM staff.

  • Provide necessary training and coaching on risks, controls assessments and PSR assessments; provide guidance and feedback on their operational risk analysis, presentations and reporting.

  • Manage the Bank's regulatory liaison function, including the coordination of all regulatory requests, responses to regulatory examination reports and meeting with business units.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • 15-20 years experience in financial services control related function (such as Audit or Operational Risk).

  • Must be experienced in ORM practices and have a strong understanding of Operational Risk concepts, programs, and regulatory guidelines such as BIS II and SOX.

  • High attention to detail/focus on internal control activities.

  • Solid oral/written/presentation/training skills.
