AT&T Security Engineer in Naucalpan de Juárez, Mexico

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Monitor to ensure system software/firmware are at current approved versions

• Coordinate, schedule, install, upgrade, and perform security and compliance activities for operating system layer

• Ensure systems are patched to eliminate identified vulnerabilities using AT&T standard tools

• Provide technical expertise for system transitions, migrations, and consolidations as it pertains to compliance and security

• Work closely with internal customers, such as application and database administrators to ensure that system security and compliance items are coordinated or mitigated

• Perform server-side maintenance and troubleshooting of security tools and coordinate with multiple organizations to ensure compliance

• Ability to work under pressure to identify security related issues and work across multiple organizations to quickly implement solutions

• Able to convey complex technical issues to consumers of all skill levels in order to achieve desired results

• Perform in-depth system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system compliance

• Determine system issues, resolve outages, and perform root cause analysis with minimal assistance

• Implement new or revised system software, configuration utilities, and automated processes, as necessary

• Ability to troubleshoot network issues from server side and determine potential network break point

• Document change and problem resolution activity in detail

• Collaborate with peers from around the world to ensure customers are provided world-class support

Key Competencies and Skills:

o 3 – 5 years of experience with one or more of the following operating systems

  • AIX

  • HP-UX

  • Linux (CentOS, RedHat, or Ubuntu)

  • Solaris

  • VMware ESXi

  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

o Experience with one or more of the following OS security tools

  • McAfee Antivirus

  • Sensage

  • Symantec Enterprise Security Manager

  • CFEngine

  • Microsoft SCCM

Education and Qualifications:

Education and Qualification

o Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology studies or equivalent experience

o 5 or more years of experience working in Information Technology Server Administration and Security

Academic professional or technical certifications

o Desired one or more: GCUX: GIAC Unix Security Administrator; RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA, CompTIA Linux+ or LPI Certification; Microsoft MCSE or System Center certification

Additional Information:

o Intermediate understanding of industry audit requirements (PCI, SOC, SOX) as they pertain to System Security

o Intermediate knowledge of IP addressing and routing; Ability to demonstrate understanding of routes, subnets, and packet ingress/egress

o Intermediate familiarity with Operating System security and industry standards

o Intermediate troubleshooting knowledge

o Intermediate PERL, shell scripting (sh/ksh/bash), Powershell, or VB Script knowledge

o English B2 or higher, written and spoken
