Department/UnitSummary:

The Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center specializes in ear, nose, and throat diseases, and communication disorders such as hearing, speech, language, and voice problems. Doctors and communication specialists work together as a team for the benefit of patients being treated in one or more of the Center’s many closely related clinics. The Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center for Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences was designed so that medical practitioners, speech-language pathologists, teachers of the deaf and hard-of-hearing, audiologists, and rehabilitation therapists could work side-by-side to meet all the needs of our patients. Your Role:

In your role as Teacher II, you will be working with students and collaborating with teachers at Vanderbilt’s Mama Lere Hearing School. You will provide pre-academic training for 3 pre-school classrooms for children with Autism diagnosis, and your focus will be preparing the children for entry into the school setting.

PositionQualifications

Required:

· BA in Special Education

· TN Teacher’s License

· 2 years of experience

· Knowledge of educational interventions of students with Autism

· Good behavior management skills

Preferred:

· Knowledge of Special Ed law

· Understanding of parent advocacy
