The person hired for the position of Quality Vessel Engineer-Sterilization Focus will be responsible to define and execute robust experimentation and validation that ensure current and new vessels are compliant to established standards. This individual will also rigorously analyze data to develop predictive measures and robust control plans for vessel performance, enabling a long-term sustainable vessel platform. Finally, an element of global support for localization efforts, factory acceptance trials and training is anticipated.
Sterilization test vessels are heavily used and tightly controlled sterilizers intended to test and/or release biological and chemical indicators for our Device Reprocessing business.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Lead vessel validations and control plan implementation
Leads efforts to improve vessel uptime and reduced variability
Support division efforts to characterize and standardize test vessel performance parameters for process/product understanding
Ensure compliance to regulations and standards
Develop, validate, and integrate tools for data collection and analysis
Support new installs Facility Acceptance Testing/Installation Qualification/Operational Qualification (FAT/IQ/OQ)
Recommend facility improvements impacting vessel utilization and performance
Maintain robust documentation for calibration, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
Engage across sites to ensure practice and procedure alignment
Provide global support on resource specialties (performance, calibration, validation)
Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum three (3) years of combined experience in a Manufacturing/Production, Quality and/or Laboratory function within a private, public, government or military environment
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution
Mechanical aptitude with hardware or electro-mechanical systems experience
Experience in creating and executing validation protocols for process or test equipment
Experience with statistical methods and use of statistical software such as Minitab®
Experience working in a Medical Device regulated manufacturing environment
Successful candidate should have demonstrable skills in process control, hardware testing, and validation methodology including Installation Qualification/Operational Qualification/Performance Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and instrument calibration methods
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with various process/industrial instruments and controls, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), temperature and pressure measurement and control, sensors, solenoid and variable control valves is a plus
Experience working on a cross functional team
Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
Location: Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
Relocation: Is authorized
