United Therapeutics Senior Manager of Laboratory Operations in Manchester, New Hampshire
The Job Details are as follows:
The Organ Manufacturing Group seeks to expand its team with a Senior Manager of Laboratory Operations who can manage programs, tasks, and relationships required for running an efficient research and development program that will support Organ Manufacturing.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Maintain biomedical laboratory supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
Perform day-to-day administration of the office by maintaining sensitive files, answer and direct vendor phone calls as appropriate, maintaining calendars, and monitor expenses to ensure conformance with budget
Maintain office supplies inventory by checking stock and placing orders as necessary
Support budget tracking operations by maintaining the real-time goods and services expenditure budget
Responsible for distributing mail and shipping packages
Process and track invoices
Provide support on priority projects by preparing presentations, organizing data files, the ability to pivot with daily priorities
Develop, update, implement and maintain awareness of Standard Operating Procedures; Safety policies, practices and compliance; and working practices
Conduct audits as needed
Maintain organization of laboratory notebooks, responsible for ensuring electronic record keeping files including photos and videos for experiments are neat and organized
Manage facility-related items such as major equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, lab coat service, etc.
Work directly with safety consultant to manage MSDS, non-regulated and hazardous waste pickup, update and maintain chemical inventory lists
Support meetings by coordinating scheduling and logistical support for OMG and visitors to the OMG site
Bachelor's degree in science related field (or equivalent)
Strong organizational skills are required
Up to 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment
Solid written and oral communication skills, both in person and via telephone communication, are necessary for this position
Other Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
Background in science, particularly biomedical engineering, is highly desired
Must be comfortable working in a hands-on lab environment and have good attention to detail, good lab practices and patience
Knowledge of working under a quality system and medical product design preferred
Additional work showing versatility in other disciplines
Ability to utilize resources both internal and external to resolve issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways
