RN Charge Nurse, Stroke Neurology Telemetry
Position Summary: Manages allpatient care functions on an assigned unit/shift. Ensures that quality patient care is providedper defined standards of practice.Provides direct patient care based on the nursing process and individualpatient needs. Provides families ofpatients with emotional support, information, and guidance related to thetreatment plan. Educate patients andfamilies on areas of health and fitness.
Requirements: A minimum of an Associate Degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Appropriate state licensure, specialized professional credentialing, and other formal education as needed. Registered Nurse competency is validated by the Competency Based Orientation (CBO) and designated annual competency validation for department.
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
Working Relationships: The Clinical Manager is responsible to the Unit Manager. He/she may supervise one or more employees in a clinical setting. Daily contact with patients, guests, and staff. May have contact with other members of the healthcare team as such as medical representatives, students, physician's office staff, licensing/regulatory boards, etc.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
Physical coordination, mobility, verbal articulation, vision, and learning must be easily performed. May be exposed to blood, body tissues and fluids regularly, as well as other hazardous waste materials. Must be able to tolerate environmental temperature fluctuations. May be exposed to radiation, toxins, dust, cytotoxins, and/or poisonous substances. May be exposed, periodically, to physical injury, burns, noise, and some electrical hazards. Must also be able to walk, stand extensively, bend, stoop, squat, visually discriminate close objects, hear and distinguish normal sounds.
