University of Kansas Student Hourly - Research Assistant in Lawrence, Kansas

Job Description

Conduct laboratory tests related to Produced Water Treatment and Management Project, including chemical precipitation tests of produced water samples, and assessment of fracturing fluids chemicals and foams. Analyze and interpret the data resulting from these tests and assist in preparation of presentations related to this work.

Required Qualifications
  1. Completion of 1st year Chemistry sequence (Chem 134, 150, 175 or equivalent) During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Completion of C&PE; or CE chemistry-related lab course (e.g. CE 571, CPE 616) or previous expertise with methods or instruments used in this project.
