What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a talented Senior Visual Designer to join our Experience Design Team in Austin. You will partner with experience designers, researchers, developers, and others to strengthen our ability to innovate and standardize our visual language. You’ll also help create visually beautiful, highly usable interfaces for our customers, and have the opportunity to conceptualize and design experiences.
Working with designers and product managers, you will establish best practices, create design principles and help define our UI guidelines. You will work collaboratively across multiple disciplines and teams to push forward the use of components, icons, color, and typography, and constantly evolve our visual design language. Relying on your innate set of user-centered design principles, you will produce high-quality visuals—from concept to execution—across multiple contexts and digital platforms.
You are a relationship builder and are comfortable working with designers of all levels and capabilities, incorporating ideas and inspiration from multiple sources. You will adapt the visual design across our products and will uphold brand standards and consistency where required. You understand experience design, and can also produce workflows, wireframes and prototypes if called upon.
What You’ll Do
Hands-on creative problem solving in a cloud-driven enterprise software system.
Work with a multi-disciplined UX team of designers, user researchers and product managers in a fast-paced, dynamic, agile environment.
Produce high-quality visual design deliverables that communicate design solutions and facilitate discussion.
Handle a wide range of web and mobile design challenges that include product interface design, icon design, and style guides.
Ability to create non-formulaic solutions and different approaches to varied challenges.
Presentation of design alternatives and effectively communicate rationale and trade-offs.
Share your work and be open collaborative, constructive feedback.
Manage and prioritize multiple projects of varying timelines, degrees of complexity and scope.
Keep communication flowing by bringing feedback from customers to the team and taking team questions back to customers.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects of varying timelines, degrees of complexity and scope.
Supplement the experience design practice by ideating and creating visual design deliverables.
A stunning online portfolio showcasing a spectrum of innovative design solutions.
Degree in Product Design, UX Design, UI Design, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 5 years working in the field of Visual / Digital Product Design, OR 2-3 years with Visual Arts/Graphic/Interactive design degree.
Ability to manage and monitor your own projects; we need a self-starter who can take a bit of directional input and then take off.
Expertise in Illustrator, Photoshop and other production tools. Sketch and Axure are a plus.
A positive and resilient personality; you must be able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement.
Excellent communication skills.
Flexibility to work with geographically distributed teams.
Front-end design knowledge is a plus.
Experience working in Agile Development methodology is a plus.
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and modern web technologies.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.
As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.
