DOWL Water and Wastewater Engineer IV in Juanita, Washington

DOWL is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Water and Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Supply and Wastewater Group in Redmond, WA. This dynamic position will involve a wide range of responsibilities and work assignments, including both office and field work. The Water and Wastewater Engineer will complete facility plans, preliminary engineering reports, contract documents, construction specifications, final construction drawings, and construction cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment plants and water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations and related facilities. The successful candidate will: 1. Serve an active role within the Water Practice Area company-wide in business and project development including preparation of proposals, project pursuits and business development activities throughout the Water Practice area. Provide client management activities including active marketing, frequent client communication, and pursuit of clients and projects. Provide project management duties including development of scope, schedule, and costs and execution and management of the same throughout the project. Perform, or assist with, computations for pipeline plan and profile sheets, site general arrangements, equipment selection and layout, detailed piping arrangements, and related project quantity estimates. Perform and coordinate the design of treatment system unit processes, piping systems, pump stations, storage tanks, and other water / wastewater treatment related processing equipment. Coordinate with government agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvals. Prepare and route project related correspondence and record keeping. Conduct periodic site visits to construction sites to monitor quality and progress of the work. Write and edit construction specifications and engineering reports. Tabulate bid items and calculate construction bid quantities from plans and specifications, and estimate construction costs. Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in all work tasks. Education and/or Experience ?Minimum Baccalaureate degree from an ABET-accredited civil, environmental, or chemical engineering program or the requisite years of progressive engineering experience and educational study, as prescribed by the local jurisdiction, to be eligible to take the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam. Passing of the exam and obtaining licensure as a Professional Engineer is required. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the water resources field is required. An emphasis in municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Licensure as a Professional Engineer is required. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
