Avago Technologies Regional Environmental, Health & Safety Professional in Irvine, California
Primary job responsibility includes management and coordination of environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance programs across all California owned and leased facilities that house electronic R&D; laboratories and general administrative offices. Oversight of implementation of EHS compliance programs at other U.S. and global sites is anticipated based on candidate’s experience. Position is located in Irvine, CA or San Jose, CA with periodic travel to other CA sites anticipated.
Minimum of 5 years working experience in U.S. employee occupational health, general industrial hygiene and safety, and environmental compliance is required. Solid working knowledge and application of U.S. and California OSHA, EPA and applicable Building / Fire Safety Codes is required. The ideal candidate should have the ability to review, develop and facilitate implementation of site environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs within a decentralized, cross-functional organization to meet country-specific governmental legislation.
A BS in an occupational health & safety field is required and MS or certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM) are desired. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required in addition to an ability to work independently. The candidate should be detail oriented and possess the ability to identify EHS risks and close gaps through development and deployment of local EHS compliance plans and programs. Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint is also required.
