Dow Chemical Logistics Technician in Hemlock, Michigan

The Logistics Service’s mission is to provide superior value through unyielding focus on safety, customer service and efficient utilization of resources to all businesses withinMichigan Operations. We are seeking highly motivated, dependable self-starters who are interested in working for a safe, well-established global company. The position will provide support for Dow's manufacturing operations through the packaging and distribution of Dow products. Candidates will rotate through a variety of packaging and warehousing responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Packaging products for our global customers
Focal point for material movement
Interacting with chemical processes
Preparing raw materials for operations
Manually breaking-down pallets of material and products
Arranging, stacking, and repackaging all types of materials and products
Affixing labels, stickers or booklets on packaged materials
Safe operation of a fork lift or other heavy equipment

Minimum starting pay is $13.00 and includes career progression based on performance
Potential for overtime opportunities
Eligible for an additional $0.50 per hour if assigned to a role that covers 24/7 rotating shifts.

Current, valid, United States driver's license.
Able to work all applicable shifts on a rotating basis (including weekends & holidays) and work overtime when needed.
Able to demonstrate basic computer skills.
Successfully complete a background check.
Pass a drug screen if job offer is received and accepted.
Pass a functional physical testing and be able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for 300 pounds or less. (Physical capabilities test will be conducted by an outside vendor.)
Lift 50 pound bags of material.
Climb ladders, stairs and work at heights.
Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
A minimum requirement of this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
4 years of relevant Military experience
Chemical Technology Associates degree / Fast Start Degree
4 years Manufacturing experience
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
Potential opportunities at multiple locations within the Great Lakes Bay Region: Auburn, Hemlock and Midland
Location will be determined based on business needs
