Apex Systems, Inc Analytical Chemist - 901975 in Hazlet, New Jersey
(GC, QC Testing, pH, flash point)
Position requires the ability to evaluate and trouble shoot raw materials and finished goods using analytical techniques including GC/GCMS analysis, density, refractive index, flash point, acid value, pH, colorimeter data, etc.
The candidate will be responsible for evaluation and subsequent approvals and rejections, calculation of blends, and adjustments of finished goods as needed.
Must be able to multi-task, work priorities in team fashion with lab personnel, and provide quick response time to all internal/external customers while also adhering to quality standards and practices.
Other responsibilities include day to day operation and maintenance of analytical equipment, as well as trouble shooting instrumentation errors.
The candidate will also be responsible for organized data entry and record keeping, assisting in all daily lab functions, interfacing with and providing support to production, sales, customer service, and global affiliates.
Familiarity with the industry and chemicals commonly used as well as plant operations and the flavor/fragrance business is highly beneficial to the position.
Excellent communication skills are needed.
BS Chemistry or equivalent
Strong working knowledge of flavor/fragrance industry and chemicals
Familiarity with GC GCMS software and instrumentation
1-2 years of experience in QC environment working with GC analysis
Working experience with SAP System
Working experience with Microsoft office - specifically Excel and Word.
