This position is a key member of the MedTrans Accounting Team and should possess technical curiosity, and is excited by uncharted processes and challenges. The successful candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be agile enough to juggle multiple and competing priorities, and still meet deadlines. Candidate should love problem solving, and be eager to learn what drives the business.
The Accounting Consultant is an agent for change, and is instrumental in building new processes from the ground up. This person must be a problem solver who can research, and articulate proposed solutions. Presentation and professional writing skills are also necessary for success in this role. Candidate will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Prepare moderately complex journal entries
Perform moderately complex balance sheet reconciliations
Manage and meet journal entry deadlines during month end close week (4 days)
Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and proposing solutions
Review and prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
Participate on working groups to develop and communicate innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
Lead the quarterly legal entity close calls with entity executives
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
3+ years accounting experience including month end closing, preparation of financial statements, financial and variance analysis, and preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Intermediate to advanced use of Excel
- Functional knowledge of SQL/SAS
