Adjunct faculty are part-time (classroom or on-line) faculty hired to teach on a semester basis. Develop and deliver Workforce course offerings specific to Pipefitting.

Provides classroom based instruction and student academic support for assigned classes. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction. Strong candidates must possess good organizational skills, the ability to perform normal teaching duties with minimal supervision, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning. Candidates should demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential while being culturally sensitive and dependable.
Responsible for providing face to face instruction to local organizations and businesses within HACC’s service region in the area of Pipefitting.
Must be a certified Journeyman Pipefitter or Plumber OR Completion of an approved/registered apprenticeship program OR completion of a formal education program in a closely related discipline (i.e. diploma, certificate or A.S. in Pipefitting/Plumbing field or related discipline)
3 years industrial experience in the fabrication, installation and maintenance of piping systems
Qualifications: Preferred Experience
Possesses at least one certification related to the trade (Pipefitting, Plumbing, Welding, Brazing, Med Gas, etc.)
2 years experience in a teaching/training environment, working knowledge of MS Office products
5 years industrial experience in the fabrication, installation and maintenance of piping systems
PA Act 15 Clearances
As a requirement for this position, you are expected to provide current copies of the following: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check prior to your first day of employment. These must have been obtained within the last 60 months and for the purpose of employment (not volunteer). You may submit current copies of your clearances to the Office of Human Resources at the time an offer of employment is made.
