General Electric CMM Programmer in Grove City, Pennsylvania

Role Summary:

In this role, you will develop CMM inspection programs for a variety of diesel engine components. You will work with the Manufacturing and Design Engineering team to produce inspection processes to meet short-term and long-term business goals. You will provide technical expertise to the team; direct involvement with machining process development and quality verification.

Essential Responsibilities:

Program multiple CMM’s supporting various machining processes and products

Provide formatted reports for engineering, CNC programs and operators

Interpret prints developed with and without GD&T standards

Edit legacy CMM Programs, develop probing and fixturing solutions as required

Develop SPC feedback software for quality and operators

Use Six Sigma tools and root-cause analysis to aid team in process troubleshooting

Mentor entry level personnel in CMM operation

Pursue new manufacturing technology, process improvement techniques and state of the art equipment to enhance the facilities manufacturing capabilities

Qualifications/Requirements:

Associate's Degree in Technical Field (Or A High School Diploma with minimum of 3 years of relevant experience)

A minimum of 3 years of CMM programming experience

Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering documents (CAD models, engineering drawings, quality inspection/control plans, manufacturing instructions) including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Capable of programming in PC-DMIS or CAMIO

Ability to load/unload and set up parts in CNC equipment (castings, fixtures, raw stock, etc.)

Desired Characteristics:

MeasureMAX CMM language

CAM programming experience (Siemens NX, Gibbs, MasterCAM)

Completion of a Machinist’s Certification program is preferred

Ability to utilize verification software (Vericut Preferred) a plus

Six Sigma Greenbelt or DFSS Certification

Industry training in shop practices, blueprint reading, metrology practices and layout is preferred

Experience working with Siemens Teamcenter a plus

Ability to work independently and as a team contributor
